A talented group of young Logan County High School entrepreneurs has created a video for the Logan County Tourist & Convention Commission promoting visiting and enjoying the Land of Logan. Known as Logan Video, the group is from LCHS FBLA, which is advised by teacher Abbi Lillard.at
Senior Reagan Christian, who is a former Logan County Tobacco & Heritage Festival Queen, served as editor of the video. She also was a videographer and writer for the production. Other videographers were Malachi Humble and Ella Violette. Joining her as writers were Nathan Lovitt and Mariah Perdue.
WRUS General Manager and Morning Personality Chris McGinnis is the narrator. He is a former president of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce.
Tourism Executive Director Dee Dee Brown says, “They did a wonderful job working on this project all year for us!! We are excited to be able to share the finished product of their work. They have beautifully showcased Logan County for us!”
The 4-minute, 24-second video shows sites and promotes events.
Among the sites shown—in no particular order—are Lake Malone, Baker Natural Area, Carrico Park Square, Carriage House Vineyard, BH James Distillery, the 1842 O’Bannon House, the 1906 Flint Ridge McCuddy Home, Red River Meeting House, the Historic Logan County Courthouse, South Union Shaker Village, and the Seek Museums including the 1817 Bibb House and the statue of Alice Allison Dunnigan.
Events include the Adairville Strawberry Festival, Auburn’s Dog Days of Summer, the Logan County Fair, Auburn’s Party (parties) on the Square, the Emancipation Celebration on the Eighth of August, Thunder over Lewisburg on the Fourth of July, the Logan County Tobacco & Heritage Festival, the Haybale Trail, and Christmas Parades, in Schochoh, Auburn and Lewisburg.
Also shown are pictures without comment of the bank robbed by the James Gang (now Barr SS Heritage House Bed and Breakfast), the Governor’s Corner historic home on the southwest corner of Main and Ninth streets in Russellville, restaurants, stores, livestock and farmland.
