After burning the nets for 82 points in the opening round of the All A Regional, the Russellville Panthers managed only 47 in a semifinals loss Friday.
Barrett Croslin hit three 3-point goals in the third quarter Wednesday as Coach Phil Todd’s team won at Cumberland County 82-77. Croslin, who had hit a pair of treys in the first quarter, finished with 19 points.
Fellow junior guard Christian Naylor led RHS in scoring with 22 points. In each of the first two quarters, one of his three goals was a 3-pointer.
Coco Darden hit a pair of treys for all of his six points, and DeQuan Beard added the team’s 10th 3-pointer. They needed them, since the visitors went to the line only a dozen times, hitting nine.
Jordan Kennedy scored 16 points, half of them coming in the fourth quarter when he went 4 for 4 on foul shots.
Kailib Crawley had a big fourth quarter for the home team. He, too, hit all four of his foul shots in the final period, swished a 3-pointer, and picked up 11 of his 17 points in the frame. Andrew Perdue scored 17 of his team-high 22 points in the middle two quarters.
Cumberland County hit 8 of 14 free throws and added five 3-pointers in the high-scoring game.
